Gosh just two! Born and raised as a Wisconsinite, cheese is a staple. Let’s do Cabernet with a 5 or 6 year cheddar tonight!
gotta be cheddar.
No surprise that Cheese Cupid pairs two of my favorites, Stout and Gruyere. This site will help me impress my date with my cosmopolitanism. Oh ya.
I love to take a baguette and make small gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches with havarti, sometimes plain and sometimes a flavored variety. I add some melon and berries to my plate, then top it all off with a late-harvest Riesling (Spatlese). Good stuff!
I know it’s simple, but the pale ale and cheddar is my fave!
I’m a purist. I love sharp cheddar and slices of granny smith apple!
Probably have to say one good pairing, that sounds awesome, would be fresh Gouda on a nice italian dish, preferably with some type of tomato, next to a glass of Beaujolais.
oh swiss and reisling will do me just fine. i feel like nobody loves swiss the way i do.
I love just pair cheese and crackers!!
i am a simple man that loves the simple combination of swiss and summer sausage. if i feel like being fancy ill put dejon mustard on it, but thats on rare occasion.
Cheddar on Rye is probably the best pairing imaginable. You can stuff whatever you want in the middle, but as long as it’s cheddar on rye, you’re probably gonna be good to go.
This would be such a perfect gift to give to my daughter, the original WI cheese lover, when she gets married on July 4th in Colorado. She loves WI cheese so much, especially Marble Colby/Jack, that I have to mail some to her every few months! She claims that the cheese she could buy in Colorado (or in NYC when she lived there) was never as good as WI cheese!
I love Gouda with carmelized onions on a nutty whole grain bread!
I love WI cheese!! Hard to choose a favorite. Top of my list is WI Cheddar with strawberry jam.
love love love cheese curds
“You bring the wine and I’ll bring the cheese”. Take my E-Z BEJEWELED BRIE TORTE, anywhere: 20-24+ Appetizers
1, 14-15-ounce wheel of Brie (approx 5″), chilled
1, 8-ounce container mascarpone cheese, chilled
3/4-1 cup of coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
6 oz. dried berry blend (blue b’s, cran’b’s & cherries)
2 oz. golden raisins
Coarsely chop the nuts. Coarsely chop the dried berry blend & raisins. Toss together in a small bowl.
Slice the Brie in half lengthwise, to form 2 discs. Open up like a book, w/soft centers facing up. Spread 3 tablespoons of mascarpone over the centers. Distribute 4-5 tablespoons of nut/fruit mix over the bottom center.
Place the top center over the top, and gently but firmly press down to reform the Brie wheel.
Spread remaining mascarpone evenly over the sides and top of Brie, as if you were frosting a cake.
Using fingertips, pat and press all remaining nut/fruit mixture onto the sides and top of Brie. Slice like a cake a serve w/crackers or toasts of choice.
Note: tastes best when really “ooey goey”, so don’t be afriad to let it sit out for 1-2 hours.
Trivia: the word Bejewel mean to encrust with jewels, which is exactly what this looks like!!!
A family fav. is cheddar/bleu on a burger from the grill…is that three?
This one’s easy: wisconsin cheddar on apple pie!
I love Smoked Gouda paired with a glass of late harvest Riesling from Hogue vineyards.
My pairing is Limburger with New Glarus Spotted Cow. The pungent taste of the Limburger with the Farmhouse ale just seems to work together.
I love to make a Bento Box type lunch to bring to the beach or the lake with slices of Havarti with Dill, baby cucumber slices, Fresh Mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, almonds, cripsbread or a petite bagette, some Danish or Irish butter, tiny champagne grapes and some Gamay Beaujolais. All finger food, all fresh and delicious! Making it look pretty is also part of the fun!
A really tart, old Cheddar — so aged that it’s crumbly — with a cold, crisp Viognier can’t be beat. Add in a few apples and you’re in heaven.
I love a good glass of Merlot with Havarti! Nothing beats Madison, WI’s concert on the square with a little classical music, some wine/cheese/crackers, and fun friends.
I love Campus Oaks Zinfadel paired with a nice 4 year old or 10 year old Cheddar…made in Wisconsin of course!!
Nothing beats cheese from Wisconsin. I love cheddar cheese and summer sausage on crackers!!
Swiss with dijon on pumpernickel toast!
mmmmmm
What’s better than some nice Gouda and a clean pint of Porter?
Fresh cheddar curds and a bottle of Point
I love love love brie cheese with a little bit of raspberry or blackberry jam with champagne and some summer sausage. So delicious!
moscato and juustoleipa (the fried “bread” cheese)!
I love making a grilled cheese with a nice crusty bread, gruyere and prosciutto. Finish with a few grapes and I am a happy girl!
A nice crisp Reisling and some aged Gruyere. Simple and simply delicious.
I love Swiss with dijon on pumpernickel toast!
I would have to say Zinafndel and kasseri cheese
I like a dry Merlot with Havarti or smoked Gouda.
I take a lovely cheddar and melt it with halved cherry tomatoes and three colours of peppers (green, orange and yellow) over hand made nacho strips (cut from pita bread > use a pizza cutter to do this) ). Bake on broil at 500 degrees for 6 mins .Sprinkle parsley over top and add a home made margarita and voila or should I say “OLA” -YOU HAVE A SUMMMER FIESTA! :>)
wine bars are great. my father installed a wine bar in my home and my wife also loved it “~,
